Riverbend Media Center and teachers strive hard to ensure that students have access to current, informative, and interesting resources and materials. Our goal is to provide an inviting environment and encourage a love of reading that will last a lifetime.

The Riverbend Media Center is open during school hours.  Students may access resources and materials at any time during the school day that is convenient for teachers. Kindergarten and First grade students attend media classes weekly.

# of books

K    –   up to 2 books

1     –   up to 3 books

2-3 –  up to 4 books

4-5 –   up to 5 books (if needed for research)

We do not charge students fines for overdue books.  However, we suggest that students return books within 2 weeks of check-out so that others may enjoy them.  Overdue notices will be sent home monthly with students to remind them of books they have had out for longer than 2 weeks.

Lost/Damaged Books

Lost books generally turn up.  If a book can’t be found by the end of the school year, we ask that you pay for it and will issue a receipt for the amount paid.  If the book is found, you will be reimbursed.  If a book is damaged so that it can no longer be circulated, the student is also responsible for paying for the book.
