Our Riverbend Beliefs
Riverbend believes in providing stimulating experiences for all children to reach their fullest potential within a positive, secure environment.
We also believe a successful school is a community of learners who contribute positively to the school, the community, and the world.
In addition, a prosperous school is one that encourages involvement, fosters communication, and welcomes support from students, teachers, parents, and the community, which it serves.
Our Riverbend Vision
Growing together as a community of learners, every day in every way!
Our Riverbend Mission

We will be a positive influence on others.

We will exceed expectations.
We will be problem solvers.
Our legacy is EXCELLENCE.
Riverbend is a
2011 & 2017 National Blue Ribbon School!
The Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private schools based on one of two criteria:
Schools whose students, regardless of backgrounds, are high performing. These are schools ranked among the state’s highest performing schools as measured by their performance on state assessments or in the case of private schools, that score at the highest performance level on tests referenced by national norms in at least the most recent year tested; and schools with at least 40 percent of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds that improve student performance to high levels as measured by the school’s performance on state assessments or nationally-normed tests.
As a part of the HCS Mission, we will work together to ensure the success of our students today, resulting in preparation for tomorrow, and learning for a lifetime.
Riverbend Elementary School serves the Crabtree, Iron Duff, and Fines Creek areas of Haywood County. The school was named for the bend in the Pigeon River located close to the school. This area of Haywood County is one of the most beautiful, desirable areas in the county. In 1998, this wonderful school was built to merge two older, smaller schools. The communities have come together in this location to establish the best school in the area.
