A Salute to Veterans

Riverbend’s 4th and 5th grade students presented a very moving performance on Friday afternoon in honor of our Veterans.  They performed “I Vow to Thee My Country; A Salute to Veterans”  led by their music teacher, Mr. Cameron Nixon.  Students performed traditional patriotic songs and explained the history behind the songs and the author.  They began their performance by honoring the Veterans in the audience.  At the end, Mr. Nixon performed Taps on the bagpipes, a traditional instrument used by the British army during WWI.  Our students did an amazing job and we are very proud of their performance.  It was a wonderful thank you to all our Veterans and their service and sacrifice.
