Teachers and staff kicked off the 2026-2027 school year last week with a full day of learning, collaboration, connection, and fun! Our staff started the morning enjoying breakfast together before gathering for our Opening Day Staff Meeting. It was wonderful having everyone back together as we looked ahead to another great year at Riverbend! A huge THANK YOU to Antioch Baptist Church for providing our staff a delicious lunch. We are so grateful for the continued love and support of our community!
During the afternoon, teachers and staff participated in two breakout sessions focused on making this year better than ever. Together, we set goals for reaching every learner through engaging, rigorous, and purposeful lessons and tasks. Staff also had the opportunity to collaborate and put themselves in the role of learners as they perserved through a challenging math problem that encouraged problem-solving, different approaches, and lots of great thinking and conversation!
We ended our day with one of our favorite events- Meet The TEACHER! Students and families were all smiles as they received their mission cards and discovered who their teacher would be for the 2026-2027 school year. The excitement throughout the building was contagious! And, of course, Frozen Josie’s Ice Cream Truck was the cherry on top of a wonderful event!
Today, teachers and staff were so excited to welcome back our Riverbend Panthers!! It was a busy day full of new classrooms, new routines, new schedules, new supplies, and lots anticipation for a GREAT School Year!! Our staff are ready, our students are excited, and we can’t wait to see what this year holds!
