Riverbend is a Title I school. Title I is the largest federal aid program for our nation’s schools. The goals of a Title I school are to provide a high-quality education for every child, provide additional instruction to students needing extra help, and involve parents and family members in their child’s education.
Title I status is determined by the number of students that are on free and reduced lunch. Currently approximately 40% of our students qualify for this support. We encourage all of our families to review that application for the Federal Lunch Program. The family income limits are generous, and every student that qualifies adds additional dollars to our school.
Riverbend continues to perform as the Number 1 Title I schools in the state. We believe that we are able to accomplish this high level of success because of the great support that we receive from our parents and community. We also believe that hard working students and teachers equal high achievement as well.
We sincerely want to thank you for your tremendous support and for the work that you do daily with your children. We want to take this time to suggest a few ways for you to be involved:
- Attend school events; Attend parents-teacher conferences; Visit the classroom; Volunteer
- Join Riverbend’s parent volunteer group, Panther PAC
We want to take this time to introduce our Title I staff. Riverbend is very fortunate to have several retired teachers on staff, who together, represent over 100 years of teaching experience.
