Our 5th grade students were able to travel to Haywood Community College on Friday to hear a presentation by Dr. Baker Perry. Dr. Perry is a world-renowned climate scientist that went to our very own Tuscola High School! He is currently a National Geographic Explorer and a professor at Appalachian State University. During his presentation, students learned about his expeditions to Mount Everest and the Andes Mountains to study how climate change is affecting the worlds tallest mountains. Students were able to ask questions at the end of the presentation and snap a picture with him.
